Amazing and interesting is nearby!

Something amazing and interesting is nearby, one has only to look with wide-opened eyes at what surrounds us. You do not have to go far away for something amazing — walk through the streets and parks of the city, and there you will see a lot of interesting, strange and exciting things.
I love to walk around the city on foot. The streets, cozy and quiet side streets, broad avenues, houses, squares and parks, different in style and time, connect our past and present.
How many times have I passed through the familiar streets, not paying any attention to what’s nearby. And that’s quite by chance, sitting on a cozy couch in front of TV, I was on the project «Walking around the city.» This is the story of the Ivanovo regional specialists about sights, architectural structures and well-known personalities.
After a couple of TV documentaries I have changed a lot. Now I’m going through the same streets. This is the building I know. And it is built in the style of constructiveness. It turns out that in the 20s
of the 20th century, Ivanovo was prepared to transfer the RSFSR capital here, and therefore this textile region was chosen to implement the pilot project of Constructionist architects.
House-ship makes an impression of impending ship. It has balconies instead of decks, and glass windows instead of water features. The opposite House is built in the form of a bird flying across the path of a ship. Here, as they say, you need a view from above. And for this you need to climb onto the roof of a neighboring skyscraper or … just look at Google-map.
But Horseshoe House (built for employees of OGPU) really is shaped as half-rings, this form of the building is dictated by the desire to save space and keep the old building. Not far from this house, there is a bullet or a gray house. Once it was used for the KGB and the Interior Ministry, people say it has an underground tunnel to connect it to the horseshoe-house.
You do not have to go far away for something amazing — walk through the streets and parks of the city, and there you will see a lot of interesting, strange and exciting sights.
So now the City has become my new friend. I just now realized it, but I know one thing for sure: my friendship with the city will never end. And I invite you to walk through my city!
