PLAY, ACCORDION OF YELETS

In the first weekend of autumn, the citizens of Yelets celebrated the anniversary of the 872 year old city.
On September 2, in the framework of celebrating the city’s day, the 34th city festival «Play, the accordion of Yelets!» was held. Citizens and the guests of the city tried themselves as a spectator’s jury at the contest, they also danced to the accompaniment of an unusual instrument. The event took place in the city park. Musicians from the Lipetsk region came to fight for the title of master. Harmonists who have reached adulthood were invited to participate in the competition. For those who are younger the Children’s Folklore Festival «Scarlet Flower» was held in the children`s park.
The festival of music ended with a concert. The agenda of the event consisted of the songs performed to the accompaniment of Yelets piano accordion. Professionals and fans of Yelets accordion gathered there.
In the evening, Stas Kostyushkin wished a Happy Anniversary to the city. Residents of the city, gathered in Lenin Square, became participants of an unforgettable concert.
