CHILDREN OF WAR

Мы и мир

By Artyom Palkin | NOVEMBER 09, 2019

I would like to tell you the story of people whose childhood fell during years of war. This time I’ll tell you about a short meeting on the street. It may seem to you that a casual conversation on the street cannot give much. But I believe that even such a fleeting meeting with a veteran is important.

I would like to present to you Andrei Ivanovich Nekrasov, a labor veteran and child of the war. When the Great Patriotic War began, he was only 12 years old …

But already at such a young age, he helped adults, as he could, on the collective farm. He carried the whole burden of field work on his fragile child’s shoulders and starved along with everyone in the winter of 1941-42, while he gave all his small salary to the front help fund.

Andrei Ivanovich – is a teacher. He has worked as a history teacher for almost 60 years (!). Graduates of schools N11, 18, 17, 2, as well as of other schools of the city of Lysva in the Perm Region talk with warmth and gratitude about him.
