«VKONTAKTE» WITH YOUNG JOURNALISTS

Visiting «VKontakte» in the House «Singer» was a pleasant surprise on March 12 for the participants of the program «Window to journalism. St. Petersburg». The girls visited mini-excursions in the office of the most popular social network.
The guide for young journalists was the director of the media ecosystem, Sergei Paranko. First, he told the girls about the House of «Singer». Initially, the company «Singer» wanted to build a skyscraper on this place, but because of the traditions of urban development in St. Petersburg it was forced to change the project. The architect Pavel Susan reduced the number of floors to six and placed an attic on the building, crowned with a glass dome. This design gave the House of «Singer» some airiness, but it did not overshadow the main «skyscrapers» in the center of St. Petersburg — the Kazan Cathedral, Isaac Cathedral and Spires on the blood Cathedral.
Offices of the company «VKontakte» are located on several floors; Sergei brought young journalists on each of these floors and told a little about the company, how employees work, where meetings are held, etc. After the tour, he gave each girl a few souvenirs with the «VKontakte» symbol.
«On a tour of the VKontakte office, we saw a very cozy place and kind, friendly people,» says Yulia Lukyanova, a participant in Windows in Journalism.» All the staff of VKontakte smiled and greeted us. It was very nice to get the attention, which this organization showed to us, young journalists. »
The tour was the first such experience of interaction between «Ynpress» and «VKontakte». By the way, soon this year the participants of «Windows in Journalism» are waiting for an excursion to the territory of another Internet company — «Yandex».
