Let there always be peace

It’s no secret that children’s view of life differs from the adults. The childhood is time of happy memories about years that were spent with family and friends. However, is it right for everyone? Unfortunately, there are people who met in early years with the war.

The pain of war is unbearable for every person. But for children it’s more difficult to fully understand bereavements and cruelty than for adults. They feel everything deeper but these emotionality and poignancy very often give them an opportunity to create. Thanks to a childish art exhibition, A world without the war, that took place in the Moscow house of nationalities on 27th November, 2015 everyone could see the war with the eyes of child. The main aim of exhibition is the fight against fascism and nationalism among children and youth. It should seem an unchildish topic but young artists creatively rethought it. The demonstrated works dramatized their tragedies in plenty of detail. The works of competitors that were made in a naïve style common for children and also touched on hot topics surprised us. It was difficult to us to cope with emotions while we were examining the walls lined with pictures of tanks, barbed wire, people in striped clothes and the children’s crying faces. Also there were pictures that featured happy moments like beloveds’ meetings after separation from each other for a long time, hugs, reunion with family. Such bright pictures say us: the war can’t last forever!

More than 600 participants from 13 countries all over the world took part in this competition. They were from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Belorussia, Germany, LPN, Macedonia, Moldavia, Serbia, Syria, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Russia.

Although each work was special and stood out in its own way, we would like to say some words about one the historical accounts which surprised us. It was the poster of Eva Chemodanova participant from Ukraine, Kiev with a loud name «Let there always be peace». It has become the symbol of exhibition and was recognizes as the best. The organizers told us it was difficult to connect with artist’s parents because of political situation in the country. About this brave act mentioned many times during the awarding ceremony. The pupils of childish dancing club «Graffiti» performed at the opening ceremony. Many representatives of organizations such as ROO «Macedonian cultural center», Federal commission of Central Soviet of adherents of party «United Russia» and Society of Serbian-Russian friendship made the speeches. The right to announce the winners’ names and to give them the prizes was granted to the leaders of the International section «The group of artists «SOLO», the head of « House of children’s creativity» in Zvenigorod and the members of Cultural Center « The house of Ozerov» in Kolomna.

We think such exhibitions will never miss their importance for both young generation and adults. The children should grow up in love and harmony under clear skies. And who should take care of it if the adults don’t?
