Respect to old people

Today I am going to tell you about one act of kindness. I mean the act of helping old people.
I am a very active person, all the time I run somewhere, hurry, want to go quicker than the time in order to do all my things. Once, when I was riding a bike and quickly stopped, I saw a little old woman with a walking stick. She seemed to me very little and helpless. I looked at her and understood that she wanted to cross the road and needed help but nobody paid any attention to her. Even though she was standing near to the cross road, the cars didn’t seem to notice her existence and continued their fast pace, somebody was talking on a mobile phone, others were listening to a loud music and among this noise and fast run nobody even looked at her. I felt a pity for her, so I approached her and asked her: «Old lady, can I help you?» She said: «Please dear, I need to cross the road I am going home.» I took her under the arm, holding my bike by another arm, straitened my back and we started to cross the road. The cars stopped and we crossed the road. Being on another side of the road I asked her: «Maybe I should help you to get home?» and then she answered: «Thank you, dear girl, I will walk slowly by myself. I am not in a hurry. While I am walking I am listening to the birds singing, looking at the blue sky and am glad to feel this warm sun!» And so, she continued her way home.
And then I understood what she meant. We are all flying, running, are in a hurry, think just about ourselves and our things which we should do, but if we stop and look around we will see that helpless people and animals need us. If everybody makes some kind act, the world will be kinder, brighter and better. Don`t forget that finally we all will be as these old lady with a walking stick.
