School uniforms: Pros and Cons

Nowadays, the school uniform is, in its way, an indicator of the status of the school. Each student must comply with it, in order not to let the educational institution down. But on this requirement opinions diverge. The number of opponents and the number of supporters on this topic is about the same. As for opponents, that they constitute the basis of the students themselves.
But what do we know about the creation of a school uniform?
Let’s move to the beginning of the 19th century, in the age of introduction of school uniforms. In many works, telling about the life of people of that time, it is referred to the schools and gymnasiums. Remembering them, we can conclude that the school uniform was an indicator of prosperity. Schoolboy uniform differentiated him from those children who did not go to school, or could not afford to learn. The purpose of school uniforms in our time is absolutely the opposite. As everyone says, school uniforms call for the elimination of social differences between children. But uniforms can also be of world-renowned brands. So what’s the difference — to show off school uniforms or casual clothes?
The 21 century – is a century of self-expression, a century in which everyone tries to be special and different from others. This phenomenon has had a tremendous impact on the formation of the personalities of children. This implies assertions of students that school uniform «is killing the child’s personality», making them like everyone else. In part, I agree with this: school uniform does not give the child the freedom of expression .But in my opinion, more negative — is the discomfort felt by the students, putting on the uniform. Some students may feel uncomfortable in a sweater or a skirt of this or that style. Then there is a question to the Ministry of Education: «How can a child concentrate on his/her studies, if he/she has in mind only one thing: how tired is he of this uniform?»
But there are some pluses in wearing uniforms. To start with, it looks nice, and presentable. Confess, it is pleasant to look at the students marching in school uniform along the street. Also, supporters of the uniform, have the opinion that the school uniform contributes to enhanced efficiency. I’ll bet about it though. If a child has a desire to learn, he will do so having any external aspects. If not, and the benefits of school uniforms will not help it.
Disagreement on this issue does not subside, and even, on the contrary, grows nowadays. But while the government is among supporters, students can only obey the law.
