Reindeer Herder’s Day

In the vastness of our great country, on the banks of the River Severn Liapin there is a tiny village Saranpaul. It is founded by herders — Zyryan. Saranpaul — is the traditional land of the reindeer herders. Reindeer team management is taught from their childhood. North nations honor their traditions. Every year in late February, the holiday — Day of the reindeer herders – is held there. This year it took place for the 71st time.
Smooth as glass, the river bed has become the route for reindeer races. As the herders say, a wild deer is difficult to tame, it can take up to ten years to tame it. But if you manage to do it, the reindeer will be your best friend.
That day modern houses peacefully coexisted with raw-hide tents — traditional house of Zyryan. There people could taste national dishes, buy souvenirs and just bask, sitting on reindeer skins with a cup of herbal tea.
Everyone who wanted could ride on a reindeer, try on a national dress and try to trace the history of reindeer herding in a photo exhibition, which was all located outdoors.
