The festival of school media «ProSMI» was successful

The first outdoor festival of school media «ProSMI» took place at the Ulyanovsk regional Palace of Children and Youth on December 17 . The main objective of the event – was the exchange of experiences between the participants. The children presented their projects to the jury, talked about the development mass media in their educational institutions, and discussed plans for the future.
Media educators and organizers of the festival held for the participants educational and topical workshops. Catherine D. Mills, media educator, shared her experiences and spoke about the uniqueness of the project. These measures are necessary to the school media representatives so that they could communicate and exchange experience. During the event, children learned to make a press release. This is important not only for the PR-managers, and press officers, but also for young correspondents. After all, an ad must be attractive to talk about school-level events, inviting journalists of regional media to attend this event – is an important skill that is going to be useful in future practice. Therefore, such a meeting of young journalists contributes to further motivate students to enrol at the faculties in the chosen direction »

It is noteworthy that the number of recent projects aimed at developing and supporting youth and youth media, has increased. This means that the direction of «journalism» is actively developing and becoming more and more important every year. For all kinds of festivals, master classes and competitions in this area help to develop and acquire new knowledge with young correspondents from the whole region.
