On April 21st, the annual patriotic action «St. George’s ribbon» started, this year it is for the sixth time. In our city, the action started on the square of the Filimonov microdistrict. The action will last from April 21st and until May 9th, across the whole Russia and other countries of the world.
Residents of Pavlovsky Posad also will take part in the action. Today, on May 4th, activists of the youth center «Avangard» continued the action and distributed ribbons in the central streets of the city, at the railway station and in the park. Many residents of the city responded and took part in the action.
St. George ribbon – is one of the symbols of the Victory Day. The ribbon of St. George is a sign of expressing our respect for veterans, a tribute to the memory of soldiers who defended our Motherland during the Great Patriotic War, grateful to the people who gave everything for the front. It is a symbol of the people unrestrained by the spirit who fought, and defeated Nazism in the Great Patriotic War.
Each of us is obliged to remember the events of those distant years, and as a token of memory we proudly wear the St. George ribbons. During the holidays, the volunteers of the youth center will distribute more than three thousand ribbons. You can get a ribbon at solemn events and rallies dedicated to the celebration of the Victory Day.
