In Hamburg on July 7-8, the G-20 summit was held.
This is the first event of this format, in which I managed to participate.
The summit was well organized at the highest level: the journalists’ work was accommodated in full format with working spaces for both writers and filmmakers in the international press center. The main topics for discussion were terrorism and the Paris agreement on climate. There were also numerous meetings in bilateral and other formats at the summit. The first meeting was between the Russian president and the newly elected president of the United States. In addition, the BRICS countries held an informal meeting to adopt a common political course on the margins of the summit. Several plenary sessions of open and closed formats were held.
Most of the presidents arrived at the event with their spouses, for whom a cultural program was planned. On July 7, the German Chancellor invited all the leaders of the countries and their delegations to the concert in Elbphilharmonie.
At the end, briefings were held by the presidents of the participating countries, where they told about the decisions made at the summit, and answered the journalists’ questions.
