Have you ever seen how the hand bioprosthesis works? And robots? Or have you played on fruits and vegetables? Have you watched cockroach races? Do you know a lot about geology? For two days the most popular universities of Vladivostok — FEFU and VGUES — gathered all the fans of natural sciences and told them about our world and the world of technology.
The end of the first term at school for us, schoolchildren of Vladivostok, can be associated with the Day of Science. The higher educational institutions of the city opened their doors in a friendly manner and announced; «We want to show you how beautiful this world is!» And we wanted to know! And we boldly stepped inside.
The exhibition was held at the Far Eastern Federal University, on the 12th day, where you could see the work of a 3D printer, look through a new super microscope at living creatures and learn a little about flora, minerals and oil. After 14 hours, specialists conducted conferences and discussions on certain topics that related to both natural sciences and humanitarian subjects (training in psychology, for example).
On Saturday, we managed to attend a master class on the image, the quest «In the world of forensic science» and just wander through the interactive exhibition in Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service.
It is wonderful to discover the possibilities of science for people. To excite in this way the interest for the science in people – is right. Even to me, a true humanist, it was interesting to look at radio-controlled flying airplanes, listen to the ways of separating gasoline from oil, look through a microscope … I have already decided on my future, but those who have not done so, can take a closer look. What if this is their way?
