Voters came to the square

On March 18, 2018 the elections of the President of Russia will take place. Candidates for the presidency professionally presented their electoral programs to the Central Election Commission and met with potential voters. However, not all are satisfied with the proposed list of applicants for presidential position.
Lipetsk before was considered as a town, which does not have much to do with politics. Residents came to the polls, threw the ballot into the ballot box and watched the announcement of the results on TV. This year everything has changed.
On January 28, a demonstration of dissatisfied people took place in Lipetsk at the Cathedral Square.
Supporters of Alexei Navalny organized the demonstration. In the video message on social networks the leader urged Russians to go out in the street in protest against the lack of alternatives in the elections. Not only supporters of the opposition came to the square, but also ordinary people. These residents of the city are unhappy with the state of roads, the shooting of stray animals, the prices of housing and communal services, reforms in education, and service in hospitals. This demonstration is one way to pay attention to the existing problems.
The townspeople of different ages and political views, as well as families with young children came to the strike. This was not an act of idle curiosity. For some participants of the event, elections are something far of their lives. For others, the upcoming procedure will be the first in life, but young people no longer want to go to it. And voters with experience want to see some worthy candidates in the pre-election list.
The action went smoothly and without incidents. Since the demonstration failed to coordinate with the authorities, the protesters refused to use posters and loud slogans, to avoid provoking the police. The strikers proceeded from Cathedral Square to Peter the Great Square.
