WINTER IN THE CITY

Winter came to Lipetsk: light, fluffy, slightly frosty, as if descended from the lines of the poems of the classical writers.
To visually enjoy this beauty, just look out the window. But it is not enough just to see. I want to feel all the weightlessness of the fallen snowflakes and to fall down in the softness of the snow cover.
For this, I went to Victory Park. I passed all my childhood in this park. I know all the trees and uncharted paths here; I know where cats breed kittens and where, an owl`s nest is, hidden from prying eyes in the branches of old birches; I know in which booths nightingales will sing in the spring and where is the largest ant hill. But now everything is asleep, everything is covered with a smooth blanket of snow and only the bird hubbub breaks the silence. All concerned people take care of the birds in winter: schoolchildren hang troughs, and parents with children of preschool age take care of the stern. Groats, seeds and pieces of unsalted bacon are the main delicacy of tits, sparrows and pigeons. Birds are not afraid of people and are easy to contact.
In our industrial and not ecologically clean region, people think about health. In the morning, when students learn the basics of science, there are many older people in the park. According to the schedule they have exercises, breathing exercises and nowadays very fashionable Scandinavian walking. There, where perennial pines adjoin to fluffy birches, and there are no footpaths, a ski track is laid. Here you can meet ace skiers, those who cannot imagine their life without this kind of sport, multiple participants of the “Ski Russia”, and beginners who only know the basics of skiing art. But they are united by one thing — the love of a healthy lifestyle. The only thing that upsets grandparents is the absence of a changing room for skiers in the park, equipped at least with benches. After all, many of them come to ride into the park from afar, and changing shoes on snow-covered benches is not very comfortable.
Every year in the Victory Park skating rink is functioning. But this year it does not work, as thaws do not allow for maintaining ice in the necessary condition.
But the winter has just begun, and I very much hope that it will please us moderately by the freezing weather, good mood and vivid impressions!
