ONE, TWO, THREE, CHA-CHA-CHA ….

Do you hear those hot energetic sounds? There is the light of spotlights on the faces, the rhythm of the music in the ears, and there are shoes that move gracefully across the floor in a waltz tempo on the stage. The annual festival of ballroom dance show-numbers “Dance like Stars” re-opened the curtains to Vyborg spectators on April 20.
This year the city venue was the House of Culture, and received young dancers from St. Petersburg, Gatchin, and Svetogorsk. “Dance like stars” is a show of one of the most graceful styles of dance — ballet. The stage at the time of the concert turned into a looking-glass, luxuriant and elegant: girls in bright dresses, decorated with rhinestones and patterns, and boys in elegant suits with dress coats and polished shoes.
Like a single whole, the ensembles of couples danced the waltz, evoking sentimental feelings in the audience. Then the music changed to hot samba, and with bright smiles the dancers shared their »adrenaline» energy and joy with the audience. Each dance was different in its idea, and execution. First you’re watching the battle between the “school gadgets” and street hooligans, and in a while you are already crying over the touching love story conveyed by talented children.
For their work, dancers, in addition to applause, were supposed to get something else. Each team was awarded commemorative cups and diplomas that will remind the children of that very day: Vyborg, festival, dance, and happiness.
Those who attended the concert did not regret at all the two hours spent there. Yes, there were few spectators at the concert, but this fact did not prevent the dancers from giving their best. Finally, they don`t need anything else to be happy except giving happiness to the public. Cha-cha-cha, two, three …
