GREAT AND CRUEL TIME
BY OLGA ZYKINA | 11 APRIL 2019
Time is both great and cruel at the same time. It is great, because it gives us the opportunity to change something in our lives. It is cruel, because we do not have much time, and it can not be stopped.
Time is an amazing thing: sometimes it slowly stretches, and sometimes it runs through the fingers, so that you do not have time to look back. It seems to us that there is a lot of it, but it inexorably flies forward, therefore, we need to appreciate every moment, because it is unique. We cannot return the minute that has just passed, we do not know what will happen in a second. This is the elusive moment.
Do not waste your time in vain: try to fill each day with the useful and meaningful.
Pythagoras said: “When waking up in the morning, ask yourself:“ What should I do? ” In the evening, before falling asleep ask yourself:“ What have I done? ”
You can even keep a diary, where you can describe events, and important points. So you will often think about how to make the days memorable and look for something special and unique in each of them. Then life will be rich and interesting.
Do not miss the opportunity, but better — create it yourself. Right now. Think about what you would like to do. Why not do it at the moment or at least begin to act?
The writer Terry Pratchett also wrote about time in one of his works: “It is not true that the past is leaving forever. It has not gone anywhere. It is here. You just went ahead. If you drive through any city, it will still be visible in the rear-view mirror. Time is like a road, it exists behind your back. What is gone is not disappearing. ”
Happy memories left far behind are still kept in our hearts and warm the soul. Even if a lot of time passes. Yes, the memories fade, but if you see an old photo or hear a familiar song, they wake up again and bring the past back into the world.
The sad events that still occur should be treated as life experience, do not dwell on them and go on with a calm heart.
We cannot turn back time. Live in the present, dream about the future and value time — one of the most precious gifts of fate.
