“BOILING POINT” IN CHITA

The scientific and educational event “Open Laboratory” was held in Chita on February 23. Two sites were organized: at Transbaikal State University and at the Boiling Point.
Upon arrival at the appointed place, participants were met by volunteers who helped throughout the time if anything was unclear. All the participants in the event were laboratory assistants, the venue was the laboratory, and the volunteers and the leaders of the action were the laboratory managers. Labs’ magazines with assignments and additional forms to fill out answers were given to all participants.
It was immediately said that the purpose of the action was not to get the highest score, but to learn something new. 30 minutes were allotted for solving each task. After this time, an analysis of tasks was carried out, with explanations, so that laboratory assistants could find their results immediately.
This event took place simultaneously at the two sites. After the end of the theoretical stage, depending on the site, the practical part was conducted, which consisted of a chemical (“Boiling Point”) or physical show “Tesla Show”. During the practical part, each participant in the event could watch the master class, and also try a show themselves.
I would like to thank all the organizers for holding this scientific and educational campaign. Such events contribute to increasing the interest of all sectors of the population in science.
