CHILDREN FROM CAMP ARTEK ON EXCURSIONS IN SEVASTOPOL

On October 8 an excursion to the glorious city of the hero – to Sevastopol – was organised for children from the camp «Artek».
The excursion included a trip to the bomb shelter, which is designed to save people from nuclear war. All the children were struck by the scale of the bomb shelter. There we saw protective suits and gas masks, as well as many military shells.
The next place of the excursion was the Panorama «The Defense of Sevastopol 1854-1855.» — The most often visited site of the State Museum of Heroic Defense and the Liberation of Sevastopol.
As conceived by the author F.A. Rubo, the observation deck of the panorama was the peak of the Malakhov Kurgan on the day of the first assault on Sevastopol on June 6 (18), 1855. The author thought out the composition in such a way as to show all the stages of the storming of the city and the defensive battle for Malakhov Kurgan.
The trip to Sevastopol was remembered by all Artek residents, awakening a lot of bright emotions in them.
