How can you win the first team engineering Olympiad NTI Junior? Are you ready to prepare for the competition 5 hours a day, even on weekends? If so, then you definitely took part in the finals of this Olympics, and perhaps we met there.
On December 1, in Yekaterinburg, the Yeltsin Center hosted the final round of the Junior National Technological Initiative (STI) Course Movement Olympiad. This is one of the projects of the presidential platform, “Russia — the Land of Opportunities”. The competitions covered 3 areas: technology for the world of robots, technology for the virtual world, and technology for the environment. All Junior assignments went beyond the school curriculum. Pupils of grades 5-7 made a device for capturing and moving goods using a drone, created a “virtual personality” and developed a “smart” pedestrian crossing.
In looking through photos from the Junior finals, I found one particularly funny. I was the captain of the “Clover” team. In the photo I was forced to make a quick engineering decision: our drone was too large for the barrier created by the terms of the assignment and needed to be reduced in size. There was no necessary tool at hand, wo I had to bite off the excess. And our team won!
NTI Olympics Junior will be remembered as a super interesting, difficult, and sometimes fun, match!
