We called our first action «Give joy to children». A year ago the journalists of «LYCEUM», first tried ourselves in the role of volunteers. It was our social experiment, to understand if journalism cannot only describe what happened, but also change reality, do good, and help bring joy. Together with the charitable foundation «Bereginya», we did it! We not only gave joy, but we also received it. To do good, as it turns out, is so cool!
That is why this year we continued our experiment. Together with you, dear readers, we again collected gifts for the creativity of children undergoing long-term treatment in our regional oncology center. Just think, the usual course of treatment lasts a year and a half! All this time the children spend in four walls, suffer painful procedures and dream of recovery. They dream of once again becoming as healthy and free as we are. It seemed to us that creativity is an excellent cure for boredom and sad thoughts. We believe that for a while our small gifts could brighten up the everyday life of children with cancer.
However, this time we decided not to limit ourselves to collecting, so on March 1 we brought our presents and, most exciting, conducted a master class. We made gifts for moms — after all, soon it will be March 8th and although we are not quite masters in needlework, we have been training for a long time and taught the children to make bouquets of sweets and flowers. So, it turned out to give to children and their most reliable friends and helpers — mothers — a piece of good will, joy and spring!
