WHAT DO PEOPLE REALLY TEACH IN LITERARY CREATIVITY «SIRIUS»

On the Internet, hundreds of articles about «Sirius», especially about literary creativity, are posted. One of the most popular phrases: «Here, I learned a lot of new things.» Is this so, and what are schoolchildren from all over Russia really taught in Sochi?
March, which I spent in «Sirius», certainly will remain in my memory for a long time. I got new acquaintances, had excursions, and walks to the sea. But this, surely, is not the most important thing. Most of the people go to the city of Sochi, because of the educational center situated there. A huge number of lectures, seminars, master classes with outstanding people are conducted. “Sirius” offers all this to their interns.
The rubric «Myth and Reality»: unfortunately, and maybe fortunately, here you will not be taught how to write, for example, novels, they will not give you a clear plan, they will not tell you about all the subtleties of this or that genre. That is not the task of this program. During 24 days you will be inspired to write texts on themes that are offered in Canvas (the network where you download your works). At the beginning of the shift, it seems strange, but then you start asking questions, like “Can you teach a person to write plays, novels, detectives? Why should this be taught?” After all, then the works of the trainees would be similar to each other.
Despite the absence of useful theoretical material in the course as such, the quality of the texts written by trainees improves at times by the end of the shift, since «Sirius» provides all the conditions for active practice in creating their own works.
